Bourbon biscuits, known for their creamy, fluffy texture, can be made from scratch from scratch by just about anyone.
Some people do it from scratch with a mix of ingredients from home, but others do it using an instant-read thermometer, or by hand.
There are some differences to consider, however, and I want to address them.
Bourbon biscuits can be frozen or thawed at room temperature, but thawing them before freezing is much harder than it sounds.
For that reason, some people prefer to thaw their biscuits after they’ve been frozen.
I’m going to go into a bit more detail about this topic in a moment, but first, let’s talk about how to make your own bourbon biscuits.
The first thing you’ll want to do is make sure your bourbon is frozen.
Once the biscuits have been thawed, it’s time to make the dough.
You can find some basic dough-making instructions on Amazon, but I prefer to do it by hand using a handheld dough press.
The dough can be chilled before it’s placed in the dough press, but you’ll need to let it thaw before you use it.
You’ll also need some kind of rolling paper to work with.
For this, you’ll use a rolling pin, but don’t use a pastry brush.
You want to roll out your dough to about a half inch thick, and then use your fingertips to fold it over the dough and lay it on a cutting board.
After the dough is folded, it will need to be rolled into a log.
After that, it should be rolled up into a little ball and placed in a freezer bag.
If you want to freeze the dough, you can just use a dough bag and seal the bag with some kind (nonstick) plastic wrap.
The best way to freeze is by using a nonstick freezer bag that you can seal with a freezer paper sealer.
To keep your biscuit dough cold, you want it to be frozen for at least an hour, or longer if you want the biscuit to thicken up and hold together.
Make sure that the dough doesn’t get too dry or too hard as it thaws, as this will make the biscuits more difficult to roll.
After you’ve finished rolling your dough, place it in a clean bowl or bowl of warm water.
Let it sit in that bowl for at most an hour before adding the next step.
The next step will take about 15 minutes.
To make your biscuits, place the dough balls in a large bowl and cover them with a clean, dry towel.
You may want to use a disposable disposable bag that will work with your dough.
Put the dough into the bowl and mix together with a fork or the back of a spoon.
Add the baking soda, cinnamon, and salt.
Add more baking soda if you’d like to increase the saltiness.
Let the mixture stand for about 30 minutes.
Meanwhile, in a separate bowl, mix together the sugar, butter, and eggs.
Pour the batter into the flour-covered dough balls, then use a fork to mix the batter until you get the dough evenly covered.
Fold the dough in half, leaving the seam-side down.
Now it’s just a matter of adding the remaining ingredients, and about 10 minutes later, you should have a dough-filled, but not overly doughy biscuit.
If the biscuits are too dry, add more flour to fill the dough around the edges and keep the biscues from sticking together.
To eat, spoon the biscuits onto your favorite bread or to a sandwich.
The most popular way to make these is to use the butter and sugar as a topping, but the recipe below makes them even more delicious.
To serve, spread the biscuits on a warm piece of bread, and top with a piece of bacon. Enjoy!
