There are plenty of good things about the Pilsner Bock, but one thing that might be hard to swallow is that there are also some awful things about it.
That’s why I’m sticking with the classic Pillsburger.
And for those of you who are tired of the standard versions of the popular fast-food biscuit (it’s hard to be both an addict and a critic, right?), here’s a new take on a classic with a modern twist: The Pillsbread Biscuit.
The Biscuits are the perfect accompaniment to your most classic comfort food.
They’re sweet, savory, crunchy, and, in my opinion, have the most intense cinnamon flavor.
And while you could easily order them as a side for your Big Mac or Quarter Pounder, I’d go with the Biscues, a quick and easy breakfast item that’s just as delicious as the Big Mac itself.
Ingredients: 4 slices bacon, chopped into bite-sized pieces 2 tablespoons cinnamon 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg 1 teaspoon salt 1/4 cup milk 1 egg white 1/2 cup sliced carrots, peeled and chopped into small pieces 1/3 cup cooked cornmeal 2 cups all-purpose flour 2 tablespoons baking powder 1/8 teaspoon ground cloves 1/16 teaspoon black pepper 2 teaspoons ground allspice 3 tablespoons butter 1/6 cup packed light brown sugar (not extra virgin) Directions: Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
In a medium bowl, whisk together the bacon, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, milk, and eggs until well combined.
Add the flour and baking powder, and stir to combine.
Add the remaining ingredients and stir until well incorporated.
Pour into a 9-inch baking dish and bake for 15 minutes.
Remove the biscuits from the oven and set aside.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the remaining flour, baking powder and cloves, then whisk until well blended.
When the biscuits are done, they will be slightly crumbly.
Remove from the pan and transfer to a bowl.
Add milk, cornmeal, eggs, butter, and salt to a medium saucepan and stir over medium heat until melted and combined.
Remove from heat and stir in the remaining cinnamon.
Allow to cool slightly, then mix in the cornmeal.
Finally, pour the mixture into the baking dish.
Spread the biscuits in a single layer and top with a little more milk if desired. Enjoy!
