There are many digestive biscuits that people have come across over the years, but there is one that we always thought we’d never have to use.
A recent study published in the journal PLOS ONE, found that one of the biggest health benefits of consuming digestive biscuits is they can boost your metabolic rate.
The researchers recruited a group of people who had previously lost weight and were following a strict weight loss plan.
After four weeks, they were given a daily dose of digestive biscuits in a capsule.
In total, the group was given around 4.3 grams of digestive biscuit per day, which was equivalent to the amount of carbohydrates a person should consume every day to meet their energy needs.
For the first four weeks the group lost weight.
Then, the researchers saw the participants gradually decrease in weight and maintain a similar level of weight loss for a year.
“We were very surprised at how much weight loss occurred over the course of the study,” said lead author Daniel A. Miller.
At the end of the year, the participants had lost almost a third of their body weight and had regained nearly a quarter of their initial body weight.
However, they didn’t reach the goal of maintaining their weight loss.
Instead, they lost around 20 percent of their weight over the past year.
The researchers found that the digestive biscuits did not significantly affect body weight, BMI, waist circumference or waist-to-hip ratio.
As a result, the digestive biscuits could have an even bigger impact on weight loss than the weight loss itself.
Instead of only being effective for weight loss, the research found they could have a positive impact on a person’s metabolic rate and the body’s overall health.
In addition, they could help build muscle.
“This is a big one because there is a huge difference in metabolism between someone who has a very high metabolic rate, like a marathon runner, and someone who’s losing weight,” said Miller.
“If we can lower our metabolic rate to a point where we can maintain a normal level of body weight over a longer period of time, then you could theoretically build muscle.”
The researchers say that the results also showed that the biscuits did have an effect on metabolism, and suggested that people who want to lose weight but are struggling to achieve that goal may benefit from consuming digestive biscets.
